RUGBY FOOTBALL. Alangawoka seniors met Hautapu (Taihape), at Alangawoka on Saturday. After'a very hard and exciting game Hautapu emerged the victors by 14 points to nil. Hautapu juniors forfeited to Mangaweka juniors. CHESS. The cold winter evenings are attracting many new players to the Chess Club, where the friendly glow of the log fire, and the subdued silence tend to make the dullest men think deeply and move slowly. Many of the star games attract large audiences, who gather around the tables and return knowing smiles while the games progress. GOLF. UTIKU v. MANGAWEKA.
