An anomaly in payments to teachers was referred to at the Wanganui Education Board yesterday. It is brought about through the application of ‘vuts’ to house allowances. If the same building was occupied by a married teacher it would bo rated at £5O. House allowance was £lO more in the case of a married man. When ‘cuts’ wore applied a married teacher paid on £5O and the single man on £4O. vet the same building was involved. Mr AT. IT. Oram said that such a provision was ridiculous.
