PLAY IN ENGLAND WIMBLEDON AND QUEEN S CLUB Received June 15, 9.45 p.m. LONDON, June 15. A strong entry has been received in the London lawn tennis championships. At the Queen’s Club Crawford beat Blake 6-0, 6-0. Hopman beat W. A. R. Collins. 6-0, 6-2. Clemenger beat Lysaght. 9-7, 6-1. Bproule beat Jacobson, 8-6, 6-3. In tho women’s singles, first round, Mrs. Crawford beat Miss Cook. 6-1, 6-1. In the Second round Mrs Crawford beat Mrs. Covell, 0-6, 6-0, 9-7. In the men’s doubles/ first round, Crawford and Hopman beat Colp_nel Helme and Drake, 6-1, 6-0. At tho Wimbledon tournament seeded players comprise:— Singles.—Cochet, Vines, Shields, Perry, Wood. Austin, Borotra and Crawford. In the doubles Allison and Van Ryn meet Crawford and Hopman; Perry and Hughes meet Borotra and Brugnon. Tn the mixed doubles Vines and Mrs Wills-Moody meet Cochet and Mrs. Whittingstall; Brugnon nnd Mdlle. Mathieu meet Maier and Mias Ryan; Allison and Mise Jacobs meet Hopman and Miss Sigart; Spence and Miss Nuthall meet Mangin and Mise Palfry.
