Thanks for his election to the position of patron of the association were received from Dr. H. W. Cooke. The president said that Dr. Cooke had been on Gonville Park on the previous Saturday watching play. On the application of Mr Hasall, two junior ladies’ teams from the Wanganui Technical School were entered for that competition. Several members expressed their appreciation of Mr Hasall’s work in that connection. The following ladies’ selectors were appointed: Miss M. Wakeling, Miss R. Brooks and Mr P. Tarr. The Manawatu Hockey Association wrote stating that a challenge had been received for tho Winter Shield, and asking that the match should be played before the end of the present month. As the Manawatu body had played two friendly representative matches already this season, it asked that the match should bo postponed in order that the club fixtures might bo proceeded with. The decision of the meeting was that the Manawatu Association should be asked to play tho match before the end of the month, but in view of the shortness of the notice a week’s extension of that time was allowed.
