LARGE DIAMOND FOUND

DIAMENTINO (Brazil), May 14, A diamond, claimed to be one of the largest in the w'orld, has been found by a poor prospector in the diamond fields here. The stone is said to bo of 574 carats, and the finder is stated to have, refused an offer of 80,000 dollars (£16,000 at par). The largest diamond in the world, the Cullinan, discovered in South Africa in 1905, weighed uncut just over 3000 carats. The famous Koh-i-Noor diamond weighed uncut 900 carats, and 106 carats after its second cutting. It is now in the British Crown.
