FINANCIAL CHAOS
CENTRAL EUROPE’S FINANCE BRITISH ATTITUDE STATED Received May 22, 7.20 p.m. GENEVA, May 21. Captain Eden, British Under-Secre-tary for Foreign Affairs, in the course of a comprehensive statement on the financial situation of Central and Southern Europe, at the final sitting of the League Council, declared that Britain was unable to guarantee loans raised to afford temporary assistance to other countries, Britain considering it not desirable to encourage certain countries to expect to be maintained in the oreserit situation by external financial help. France, Germany and Italy
