Mrs. Boon, with her daughter Judith, and niece, Miss E. Morton, have returned to Mataroa after a holiday spent with her mother, Mrs. Wastney.

The Rev. R. Raine and Mrs. Raine are spending a brief holiday in Wanganui. They are the guests of the Rev. G. P. and Mrs. Hunt at 36 Dublin Street. Mr. Raine occupied the pulpit at Dublin Street Methodist Church yesterday morning. Miss Florence Harding, M.A’., who was awarded the Sir William Hartley I scholarship on the examination of 1931 at Canterbury College, will leave in August for England to continue her studies.

Miss E. F. Macrae has returned from Palmerston North. Miss Annie Scott, who has been staying with her mother, Mrs. Elliott. Durie Hill, has returned to Aurua. Taranaki. Mrs. Elliott has journeyed through to Douglas, Taranaki, where she is staying with her daughter, Mrs. W. Breddon. UNION BOAT CLUB THE WEEKLY DANCE Dancing at the Union Boat Club’s weekly function was as enjoyable as ever last Saturday night, when music was temptingly played by the Tempo Teasers. The decorations; of brown and gobi streamers and the multi-col-oured lights made the hall delightful to the eye. A Monte Carlo dance was won by Miss Tucker and partner.
