MEAT PRODUCERS’ PLAN [ Per Press Association.! WELLINGTON, May 10. Mr. Jones, chairman of the Meat Producers’ Board, was invited to attend a meeting of the Farmers’ Union executive yesterday and discuss with them the board’s proposals in connection with Imperial preference in vicu of the Ottawa Conference. Mr. Jones stated that apparently there was misconstruction ns to what were the proposals of the board. The view had been expressed that there was a danger of the suggested quota limiting the quantity of meat exported from New Zealand into the United Kingdom. Mr. Jones pointed out that this was incorrect, and that the proposals that the board supported, and which had been agreed to by the other Dominions, were that New Zealand and other Empire countries would have freedom of entrance for nil their supplies into Great Britain, while restrictions should be placed on foicign importations.

It is reported at Canberra that, Wil liani Hughes will be one of Australia’’ delegates to tho Ottawa Conference.
