With the approach oi the winter months when unemployment may be expected to increase, and when a greater call will be extended to the public to help the workless, outbreaks of disorder, such as have occurred in Dunedin and Auckland, will alienate public sympathj and the unemployed as a whole will then be the poorer. The unruly element, however, should not be regarded as representative of the whole body of unemployed.
