Cathedral Organ Damaged.

Although the organ in the Christchurch Anglican Cathedral luckily escaped major damage during the very severe hailstorm of a few weeks ago. it was considerably affected and needed repairs. The overflow from the spouting got into part of the organ, just missed the big wooden pipes, but soaked the great organ soundboard, cutting out about eight stops. It was found that ten palets on the great organ and 18 on the pedal trombone were, damaged. These have been opened to dry. Fortunately it will not be necessary to put the organ out of commission, and it is expected that the whole of the damage will be easily repaired.
