Al r Louis Blundell, sen., has been elected a life member of the Wellington Aero Club.

Alajor J. A. Aleiklc, First Battalion, Canterbury Regiment, has been posted to the retired list. Dr R. H. Owen, headmaster of Uppingham College, Rutland, England, is at present in Wellington. One of the earliest residents of Auckland, Air Robert John Yates, died on Tuesday at the age of 86 years. Visitors at the weekly luncheon of the Wanganui Rotary Club held on Alonday were Air C. P. Brown, Rev. J. Paterson and Air W. D. Robertshaw. Tho Hon. J. A. Young, Minister of Health, has accepted the invitation extended by tho Hawke’s Bay Hospital Board to visit Napier as soon as the present Parliamentary session is completed. Guests registered at Foster’s Hotel lust night were Messrs A. Loadmon, F. li. Jones, H. Jones (Wellington), It. Manson (Palmerston North), E. Hard ley, Chas. Prime, D. H. Ciochetto (Auckland). Air M. J. Klimech, who was for some years a professor at the Roman Catholic Seminary at Alosgiel, Dunedin, has completed a course of advanced study in Rome, and is now on his way back to New Zealand. Rev. Lionel B. Fletcher, widely known for his work for prohibition and youth crusading, will be in Wanganui today representing the world-president of Christian Endeavour, a movement now over four million strong. Mr A. B. Bateman, who has been stationed at New Plymouth as enginedriver for 15 years, will retire on superannuation on Saturday in conformity with the Railway Department’s decision to retire officials of 35 years’ service. Alias Gladys Gamman gave two elocutionary items at the Wanganui Rotary Club meeting on Alonday which were greatly appreciated by tho members. Miss Gamman was asked to contribute further items upon another occasion. Mr E. R. Greenfield, who recently relinquished the management of the Regent Theatre, Auckland, to take charge of a picture circuit with headquarters at the Civic Theatre, Hamilton, will take control from the reopening of the theatre next week. Alajor C. B. Toms, chairman of directors of the Wellington firm of Kircaldie and Staines, Limited, is at present in Wellington after visiting Rotorua and Auckland. His home is in London, and he is making his first visit to New Zealand. Alajor Toms expects to leave next month for England.
