WEDDINGS
EVANS—JONSON. A very pretty wedding was solemnised in the Rata Hall last Wednesday evening, when Septre Mary, second daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Jonson, was united in the holy bonds of matrimony, to William James, second son of Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Evans, of Otoko, Gisborne. The birde, who entered the hall on the arm of her father, looked charming in a frock of white georgette. Miss Kathleen Jonson, sister of the bride, acted as bridesmaid, and wore a frock of floral silk georgette, with hat to tone. Mrs. Jonson, mother of the bride, wore a frock of floral art silk, with hat to tone. The duties of best man was carried out by Harry Evans, of Wellington, brother of the bridegroom. The Rev. Mitchell, of Marton, officiated at the ceremony. Among the many guests present, were representatives of the Oddfellows’ Lodge. The happy couple left later, amid showers of confetti, and good wishes, for Auckland, where the honeymoon is to be spent. The bride travelled in a beige costume, with hat and shoes to tone. Their future home will be at Tahokeroa.
