Miss O. Shaw, New Plymouth, is the guest of Mrs T. Wilberfoas, Victoria Avenue. - * * # Miss Anne Levick, of Auckland, is visiting Wanganui. Mrs Sydney Bankin has returned to her home in Wanganui East after spending a holiday with friends in Wellington. Miss A. Currie, of Clifton House School, Victoria Avenue, intends leaving for England early in January, for a two years’ holiday trip. Miss D. M. Howie, Hunterville, who was a visitor to Rangiwahia for the week-end, was the guest of Mrs A. Morton. Mrs J. Dye, wife of the American Consul in Wellington, who is leaving shortly with her husband to live in Melbourne, has been the guest of honour at various farewell parties. Among the hostesses was Mrs. C. M. Hitch, wife of the Consul-General xor the United States of America, who gave a large party at the Midland Hotel last week. The dining-room was arranged with American and other national flags, while the decorations were in tones of yellow, carried out by groups of balloons and daffodils on the tables intermingled with brown birch. Delicious tea and coffee with other refreshments were served and gramophone selections accompanied the continuous hum of conversation.
