“CHRONICLE” CRUSADERS MATCH WITH THE TIMES TRIP TO PALMERSTON NORTH The annual Rugby match between the Wanganui “ Chronicleand the Manawatu Times is to bo played at Palmerston Nortn next Saturday. Last year, the Times’ side, and supporters, visited Wanganui, tho “Chronicle” team winning the Crusaders’ Cup which was held by the Times. This year the “ Chronicle’’ team hopes to defend its possession of this trophy on a Palmerston ground. Thu following team has been selected to represent the “Chronicle,’’ and any members who are unable to play are asked to advise “Cross-Bar” immediately : McDonald L. Barlow, Guthrie, Mitchell, R. Wakcling, H. Lowe (capt.), A. Lowe, Delves, Sampson, N. Barlow McEntee, Granville, Porteous, Watson, Sheridan, Reserves: Palmer, Kirk, Baxter, Young, Taylor, Smart. The tentative programme for the day is that the team will leave tho 4 ‘ Chronifle” office sharp at 12 noon on Saturday. Lunch must bo had beforehand. On arrival at Palmerston North Vie party wiil be met by the Times’ social committee, the match will be played and there will bo jollification afterwards. The return trip is to be started not later than 9 p.m. from Palmerston. So far there are two golfers in the party. There may be three in the finish. Those who intend going must definitely register their names before tonight, as accommodation is being arranged to-morrow. There will be one big twenty seater and four or five private cars.
