PARAMOUNT FILM LENGTH
HOLLYWOOD TO N.Z. If the film which has passed through Paramount cameras since the inception of the company twenty years ago could be spliced together, it wquld extend from Hollywood to New Zealand, and there would be enough left over to film an appropriate celebration marking the completion of the celluloid span. This estimate was compiled by a mathe matical minded executive of the company attending the annua] Paramount convention in San Francosco. Sylvia Sidney, featured in Paramount’s “Confessions of a Co-Ed.” entered the New York Theatre Guild School at the age of fifteen, and was playing leads under the direction of Winthrop Ames when she was sixteen.
Painters in the Paramount Hollywood studios annually use more than 1,200 paint brushes. Plasterers use 300 tons of plaster sand. The paint department uses between 3.000 and 4,000 gallons of denatured alcohol yearly.
