VALUABLE PUBLICATION

N.Z. TURF REGISTER ISSUE OF LATEST VOLUME Coming as it does on the eve of the C.J.C. Grand National meeting, the Now Zealand Turf Register for the 1930-31 season forms an indispensable guide to the keen follower of racing. It makes a timely appearance. The Turf Register has grown in proportions since the first issue was published so many years ago, and to-day the publication contains some 500 pages of information and statistics without which no enthusiast could hope to keep pace with happenings in racing circles in the Dominion. Results of all race meetings between August 1, 1930, and July 31, 1931, are contained within its covers, so that the latest form is kept at one’s finger-tips Then there are the statistics of winning owners, trainers and jockeys, the leading sires and horses, the winners of the principal races in the Dominion, sales at the National Y’earling Sales at Trentham last February. Australasian and New Zealand racing records, and the racing fixtures for the new season. The jockey’s directory is also a valuable addition. Entries and acceptances for future •lassie events, together with the revised Rules of Racing, complete a volume which is well worth a good deal more than is asked for it in all book stores. The publishers are the Christchurch Press Co.. Christchurch, from whom copies may also be obtained. N.Z. Trotting Register The New Zealand Trotting Register makes its welcome appearance at the same time as its better known companion. and as it contains a full renort of the past season’s trotting in New Zealand, together with tables of winners of the most important races since their institution, it should prove most valuable to light harness enthu•lasts. Entries for coming events, record times. Rules of Trotting, fixture® and statistics complete a volume that should be in every trotting enthusiast’s pocket. '
