R.A.F. PILOT’S FATE 9 Received Aug. 9, 5.5 p.m. LONDON, Aug. 8. An R.A.F. pilot, Mr Vaughan Fowler, when en route to Folkestone from Northolt to participate in the display over the Tattoo Ground, crashed down in a fog near his destination and was burned to death He had stated that he would burn flares during tho display, and it is thought that these set fire to the machine.
