ITALIAN GOVERNMENT “ILLICIT INTERFERENCE” PRIVILEGES, NOT WEAPONS [By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright] ROM is, June 24. The Government’s official reply to Ihe Vatican repeats tho protest against the “illicit interference of the Holy Sec in nlcrnational affairs in I' .ly ami laments that the Holy See insists, by speeches,, telegrams, and appeals to public, opinion ..broad, upon carrying these events outside their proper place. ” The reply adds that greater regard should be shown for tho duties imposed on the Holy See and privileges must not be converted into weapons against tho State.
