HIGH PETROL PRICES
MOTORISTS’ HEAVY BURDEN. SOUTHERNER’S ALLEGATION. (Per Press Association.) TIM AR U, Juno 25. The quarterly meeting of the South Island Motor Union to-day decided to ask the Highways Board to pay the cost of providing white centre lines on bitumen roads. Mr W. Freeman (Christchurch) made trenchant reference to the alleged boy cott of petrol retailers there, and asserted that the motorists of New Zealand were paying £3,000,000 annually above the landed price of petrol.
