Alay 23. ’l’he provision at an early date of additional funds for unemployment relief was foreshadowed by the Labour Minister (tho Hon. H. G. Smith) at Mercer last night. Ho said that he hoped to provide additional money to augment relief works in the winter months. The announcement would in terest farmers, especially those who had no money coming in. Ho hoped also ta make a statement shortly concerning the. efforts of the Unemployment Bon’d to meet the problem of unemploye I women.
