THIEVES IN J.P.’S BED

Two youths who broke into the house of Captain Powell, chairman of the Herefordshire Quarter Sessions, and stole two gold watches, four bottles of wine, and other articles, were sentenced at Hereford, recently. It was stated that when arrested the youths were under the influence of drink, having taken port wine and champagne. They had locked themselves in a bedroom of the house and were lying on the bed with a sword and pistol near by. The youths, who had been in prison awaiting the trial for three months, were each sentenced to three months’ imprisonment.
