OBITUARY

REV. J. H. CRUMI | Per Press Association, j BLENHEIM. iKr. An old resident of Marlborough, the Rev- John Crump, F.Z.S., died suddenly in the street at Blenheim this evening from valvular disease of the heart and high blood pressure. He was aged 64. Born in England in 1886, Mr Crump emigrated to New Zealand and started farming at Vernon. Marlborough. After some years he studied for the Methodist ministry and in 1892 was ordained. He volunteered for mission service in New Britain, where he served for 12 years. Returning to New Zealand. he settled at Ocean Bay, Marlborough. Founding the well-known school for boys, he lived there for about 25 years, ten years as a farmer and 15 years as principal of the school. Three years ago he retired and the school closed. He leaves four daughters and one son.
