ADMIRALTY TANKER

MEN REFUSE TO SIGN ON

[ Per Press Association. ] AUCKLAND, Nov. 14. The men selected to man the British Admiralty’s chartered tanker Nucula, which supplies oil fuel to the New Zealand naval squadron, this morning refused to sign on. They alleged that the tanker’s reduced manning scale did not provide enough to carry on. The number of the crew has bene reduced by three able seamen, two greasers, two oil burners, •ml one steward. The men say that to sign on under the reduced scale would be unfair to many unemployed seamen in Auckland. The Nucula was due to sail on Monday for San Pedro. THE TROUBLE SETTLED [ i’er Press Association. J AUCKLAND, Nov. 14. The crew trouble on the Nucula has been settled, the men agreeing to sign on this afternoon.
