THREE HORSES DROWNED
SWEPT DOWN FLOODED BIVER. ( Per Press Association. ] PAHIATUA, Nov. 1. A Pahiatua County team was submerged in the Mangatair.oka River near Hamua, yesterday, while hauling a load of metal across the river, which was swollen. Three horses were drowned. The drivty, S. N. Shirley, married, is in hospital, suffering from shock. Another teamster. R. C. Turner, also married, had a narrow escape.
