AUSTRALIANS’ TOUR
LAST MATCH DRAWN BRADMAN AND KIPPAX FIVE WICKETS FOR RHODES [By Telegraph—Press Association— Copyright] LONDON, Sept. 12. The last match of the Australian cricket tour, against an English eleven at Scarborough, was drawn. At the end of the second day’s play the scores were: England, first innings 218 for nine wickets, declared; Australia 163 for two wickets.
When the fourth wicket fell at 214. the Australians collapsed, seven wickets to-day adding only 75. Parker and Rhodes both bowled well. McCabe reached his thousand runs this season. Bradman had a fourth life before he was out, just missing the century. Richardson donned the pads as Oldfield was injured. The English opening pair batted brightly both hitting sixers. Hornibrook for the eighth time dismissed Duleepsinhji, when he looked like making a big score. Richardson, keeping wicket excellently stumped Hobbs and Wyatt. The English tail, like the Australian, failed to wag and Bradman and
Kippar both slow, secured good bowling figures. Leyland played a sound knock for half a century. The innings realised 247 and the last match of the tour ended in a draw.
