Louric, Hunterville; Hamer, Old Boys. Reserves: Forwards, A. Cameron, Putorino; Wishart, Hunterville and McLennan, Athletic; backs, Whale, Putorino; Ledingham, Athletic and Bennett, Old Boys. The score in the Glenn Cup match on Wednesday was North 11; South 9 (not as previously reported). The North thus retain the trophy.
LADIES’ HOCKEY The games played on Wednesday resulted in wins for United, Halcombe,Tckoriigi and Hinemoa, and thus the . teams at the top of the table have not altered their positions. United 2 v. Waituna 0. This game was played on the park, the ground being very heavy on the eastern side and the wheel marks made by drays carrying away the earth from the drains spoilt much of the stick work. Waituna were without the servoices of two of their best players and their combination was affected. United had the best of the game and deserved their win. Messrs Frogley and' McKay were the referees. Tokorangi 8 v. Stanway 0 Tokorangi were the visiting teanj. and just failed to reach double figures. Hinemoa 3 v. Rata 0 Played at Rata. Hinemoa lead at half time by 1 goal. The visitors placed two more goals to their credit in the second half. Hal. Athletic 3 v. Marton Athletic 1 Marton journeyed to Halcombe and put up a good fight against the challenge cup holders. The visitors were leading at half time by 1 goal to nil, but the local team’s combination eventually gave them the win. GENERAL NEWS The Rangitikei hounds will meet at Mr D. Simpson’s, Heaton Park, on Saturday instead of Burleigh, Bulls. A dance will be held in the Upper , Tutaenui Hall this evening (Friday). Admission: Gents 2s 6d; ladies Is 6d ( or basket. BULLS RETURNED SOLDIERS’ REUNION This evening in the Town Hall a reunion of ex-service men of Bulls and District will be held at 8 p.m., the gathering taking the form of a smoke concert. A first class musical programme has been arranged, and the supper will be in keeping with the spirit of reunion. Colonel Powles, of Flock House, has kindly consented to take the chair, and Mr French (also of Flock House) and others will speak, several coming from Marton and other centres. A large attendance is expected, and the gathering promises to be a most enjoyable one. LOYAL BULLS LODGE Acting N.G. Bro. C. Thompson presided over a fair attendance of members at a meeting held on Monday evening in Bulls. One new member was initiated; accounts totalling £4 5s passed for payment; and good progress reports received from sick members. Several members of Marton Lodge were present, and were accorded the
