TOO MUCH WATER

ANALYSIS OF BUTTER DAIRY COMPANY FINED x [ Per Press Association. ] DUNEDIN, May 16. At tho City Police Court to-day before Mr H. W. Bundle, S.M., the Waitaki Dairy Company, Ltd., was charged with selling butter which did not comply with tho standard. Mr W. D. Taylor, who prosecuted, said that the company had been previously convicted and had been warned four times. A sample analysed contained 17.25 per cent, of water whereas the Act allowed only 16 per cent. Mr W. Haggitt, for tho company, said that every possible precaution was taken to provide against anything of tho sort. The company pleaded guilty under the circumstances.

A fine of £25 was imposed with costs.
