SLIGHT LABOUR GAIN TWO MINISTERS DEFEATED Although six seats remain in doubt, the Victorian State appear to have resulted in a slight Labour gain, it being expected that Labour will increase its strength from 28 to 30 seats, while the Nationalists will be reduced from 20 to 19. Cuthbertson, Honorary Minister, were both defeated by Labour nominees. The fate of six other seats remains in doubt until the last votes aro counted. Returns to hand indicate that the probable state of the parties in the new House will be: Labour .. .. 30 Nationalists 19 Country Party 9 Country Progressives .. 4 Liberals 2 Independents , e 1
