The vital statistics for Dunedin for the month of October are as follows (the corresponding figures for the same period last year being given in parentheses:—Births 105 (132); deaths 89 (85); marriages 73 (51). Customs Returns The following are the Customs returns for Dunedin for the month of October, compared with tho corresponding figures for some period of last year, which are shown in parentheses:— Customs duty £76.680 3s lid (£72,081 19s 7d); beer duty £20.064 14s 2d (£25,069 13s 6d; petrol tax £5,550 17s 8d (£4154 Ils 8d); tyre tax £962 14s (£1453 14s)
