WANGANUI CLUB ANNUAL MEETING HELD OFFICERS ELECTED. The annual meeting of the Wanganui Amateur Athletic Club was held on Monday evening, Mr H. Fry presiding over a large attendance of members. Tho chairman referred to the difficult year the club had passed through owing to loss of members through transfer to other parts. Despite these obstacles tho club had kept the banner flying and were to be congratulated on the results achieved. He paid a warm tribute to Mr G. Benson for his excellent record of service to the club. The attendance that evening augured well for a.’’most successful season. Messrs J. J. Weeks, E. P. P. Pridham and W. L. Young Endorsed the remarks. Apologies were received from Messrs W. Agnew and J. Watson. It was stated that the name of Miss Kench was inadvertently omitted from tho list of those members who have left the district, while Miss Greager’s name had been omitted from the annual report as being among those who competed at the New Zealand Championships at Wellington, where she ran prominently. Election of Ofi :era. Tho election of officers resulted as follows:—Patron, Mr L. Cohen; president, Mr H. Fry; vice-presidents, Messrs J. A. Pawson, A. J. Weekes, W. Draffin, L. W. Aldridge, W. L. Young, R. Hurley; club captain, G. Moore; vice-captain, J. Broad; starter and handicapper, G. Benson; hon. auditor, H. Edmondson; secretary, C. Maitland. Delegates to Centre: Messrs W. L. i Young and McGregor; committee, Messrs Pridham. P»vres. ravel. Newton.) Vincent, Davis, White. Edmondson and I Miss Sampson. The following new members were elected: Miss B. Farrell, Messrs G. Knowles, J. Davis, Mclntosh, G. Taylor, A. Clapcott, F. Bull, F. Erskine, E. Fromont, D. Bassett, C. C. Scarfe, D. Robinson, D. Mclvor, J. Johnson, A. Bullock-Douglas, W. Rusden, J. Broad, - R. Cameron. D. O. McKenzie, G. Lockett, C. A. White. Bramwell Memorial. It was mentioned that the club had. received from Mr Bramwell (senior). 1 the sum of £25 towards a memorial for his son, the late Mr W. W. Bramwell. The donation was received with thanks It was decided to donate £5 towards same from the club funds. It was also resolved that the fund be augmented from time to time. •
