TOP FIGURES IN EACH CLASS MERINO FLEECE IN THE LEAD The highest price obtained for wool on the New Zealand market last year was 26id for 6 bales of Merino fleece, branded “FI.” Following is a list of record prices obtained in each class of wool offered during the 1928/29 season:— Merino fleece, f bales branded “FI,” 26Jd. Merinr pieces, 18 bales branded “Lesliehills,” 20|d, Merino bellies, 5 bales branded “Lesliehills,” Fine halfbred fleece, 23 bales branded * l ßrookdale,” 26d; 11 bales branded “Rydal Downs,” 26d. Medium halfbred fleece, 5 bales branded “Wiwaka, ” 22jd; 6 bales branded 1 ‘Fighting Hill,” 223 d; 5 bales branded “TC bar Strathclyde,” 223 d. Coarse halfbred fleece, 6 bales branded “Belmont,” 221 d. Halfbred pieces, 6 bales branded “Bullockhill/’ 22d. Halfbred bellies, 5 bales branded “Rakahuri,” 18d. Fine Crossbred fleece, bales branded ‘‘Toropuke bar Heart,” 22d. Medium Crossbred fleece, 5 nales branded “Newlands,” 21£d. Coarse Crossbred fleece, 41 bales branded “Rakaitai HH,” 183 d.
Crossbred pieces, 5 bales branded “RR,” 21d. Crossbred bellies, 6 bales branded “B” 15d; 4 bales branded “KC,” Lsd. Southdown lambs, 8 bales branded ‘‘ASC bar The Ngaios,” 221 d. Crossbred lambs, 10 bales branded “Morland bar Spade,” 23|d. The eight bales of Southdown lambs branded “ASC The Ngaios” were sold on account of Mr A. S. Coleman, of Marton, by the New Zealand Farmers’ Distributing Company at the February sale.
