VANITY FAIR

WEDDING HISLOP—BOSHER A very pretty wedding took place at St. Margaret’s Anglican Church on Wednesday, August 14, the contracting parties being Irene, younger daughter of Mr and Mrs A. Bosher, “The Glen,-” Taihape, and Eric, only son of Mr and Mrs James Hislop, of Wellington. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. J. Rich, while Mr C. Henrichs presided at the organ. The church had been beautifully decorated by girl friends of the bride with spring flowers and greenery, while the hall where the reception was held was also artistically decorated with asparagus fern, jonquils, iceland poppies, violets and greenery. The bride, who entered the church on the arm of her father, wore ;.n extremely beautiful frock of ivory French marionette, the frilled skirt falling away at the back, thus featuring the fashionable uneven hemline The bodice was fashioned with a jabot trimmed with diamante, and frills finished off the long painted sleeves, while an exquisite shoulder spray of silk French flowers further enhanced the picturesque frock. The weding veil of beautiful handembroidered tulle had been lent for the occasion by Mrs C. Brake (a great friend of the bride), of Havana, United States, of America. The veil, which was held in place by a spray of orange blossom, fell in graceful folds to form a train, while silver kid shoes were also worn. The bride’s toilette was completed by a beautiful shower bouquet of narcissii, freesias, primroses and maiden hair fern, and a rhinestone necklace—the gift of the bridegroom.
