BOYS AND GIRLS’ CLUBS
AN INCREASING BURDEN. SUGGESTED NEW ARRANGE MENTS. In view of the fact that the Wan ganui Division of the Farmers’ Union is unable to carry the increasing burden of the Boys and Girls’ Agricultural Clubs, it was intimated at the annual meeting of the executive controlling the clubs that the time had arrived for the making of some arrangement for their further existence. The meeting was presided over by Mr E. Parsons. There were also pressent, Messrs Hogg, Deem, Aiken, Lons- * dale and Seddon (secretary). Apologies for absence were 'received from Messrs F. Handley, T. Alexander and T. Currie. Up to the present the Farmers’ Union have financed the clubs, and have received assistance from the Agricultural Association and eductional and other bodies in the form of judging and supplying seeds and manures. It. was now thought, in order to keep the clubs up-to-date, that the Farmers’ Union, together with the Agricultural Association and kindred bodies, should form a united executive to control them. The district, it was suggested, should be the educational district, and should cover the difference between th? ramifications of the Farmers’ Union and the Agricultural Association’s district. Messrs Hogg, Lonsdale, Parsons and the secretary were appointed a provisional committee to carry on until definite arrangements were completed.
