A SCHEME FOE MINERS. [ Por Press Association. 1 HAMILTON. May 11. A scheme to provide small farms for miners where they might work du-mg slack times at the mines, was laid before the Minister of Lands by a deputation at Huntly last evening. An of fer of 3200 acres near Rotowaro mines was made on behalf of Mr W. J. Ralplu who would accept payment in debentures at 44J per cent. It was stated that the miners were now working only five shifts a fortnight. Tho Minister said that if the diffcuities of subdividing and providing water could be overcome the matter would be laid before the Land Purchase Board.
