An unprecedented incident in the history of the Nex\ r Zealand Farmers’ Union occurred at the annual meeting of the, Rangiora branch held on Saturday evening, xvhen the business xvas brought to an end by the resignation of the nexx-ly-elected executive as a protest against the large pmcentage of members’ subscriptions demanded by the Dominion and Provincial Councils. Dissatisfaction xvas felt, at the amount of the levy, which was referred to by the chairman, xvho said that out uf (‘very subscription of £1 a year, 15s hud to be sent axvay to the centres.
