GENERAL NEWS (Special “Chronicle” Service.) The Bulls Town Board meets this evening. Prior to the meeting the question of the weekly half-holiday will be decidedOkanagon, the riverside resort on the right bank of the Lower Rangitikei, is gaining in popularity, and those possessing houses there have had no difficulty in finding tenants for them during the summer months. The reserve has been improved by planting some 500 marcocarp»a trees, and a boat shed had been built by Messrs Goebel and Goodall. Visitors from Afarton, Silverhope, and other parts of Rangitikei have been in residence there during the past few weeks. Considerable anxiety was expressed by friends with thft condition of Air R. Alackay, the local solicitor, who took ill, on holiday in Auckland. Air Afackay developed septic tonsilitis. Later reports are quite satisfactory. Air and Airs John Cooksey, erstwhile residents of Bulls and Sanson, who recently removed to Wellington, had the misfortune to lose one of their sons last week, the cause of death being spinal meningitis. THE PICTURES On Saturday evening at the Bulls Town Hall, Milton Sills and Miriam Cooper will be featured in “The Honour System,” a talp of the gold mines on the Alexican border, which is full of exciting situations.
