WAITOTARA

The Waitotara Amateur Sports Club held its annual meeting on Monday evening. The balance sheet was adopted. It was decided to hold the sports on Saturday, February 23; the secretary’s action in procuring that date from the centre was endorsed. A hearty vote of thanks was accorded Mr W. Simpson for auditing the club’s boks. Mr H. Forsyth donated one guinea to the club for no special purpose, and he also promised one guinea for a prize for • wrestling match, Cumberland style, should it be decided to put one on the programme. Blackie; committee, Messrs E. Leahy, W. Watson, W- Bublitz, J. Hurley, O. Symes, G. McConachy, L. Butterworth, J- Butterworth, A. A. Sloane, J. Armstrong, H. Hurley, W. Dobie, S. Train, C. Gutteridge, B. Lett; secretary and treasurer, Mr G. S. Simpson; assistant sccre" .ry, Mr W. W. Bublitz; delegate to union, Mr W. Mitchell; handicapper, Mr G- Benson. Messrs G. Benson and W. Mitchell were accorded v%tes of thanks for their services to the club, and Mr H. J. Wilson was accorded a vote of thanks for the use of his paddocks for the horse events, and to Airs G. Simpson for her services in running the ice cream stall.
