THE BIG NOISE”
■With the screen attracting more and more prominent authors to its fold, motion pictures arc making a decided turn toward the original story as material.
The latest author to devote his attention to writing directly for the screen is Ben Hecht, and many were the comments of the literary world when that brilliant cynical author attempted the new medium. Yet Hecht, despite the fact that his novels and other earlier work seemed unadaptable to screen purposes, has written two of the year’s biggest successes! The latest is “The Big Noise,” for First National Pictures. Its local showing is scheduled for to-night at the New Grand Theatre
Hecht’s first motion picture story was “Underworld,” in which he wrote of his wide knowledge of Chicago, the city in which he was a reporter for so long.
The east of “The Big Noise.” includes Chester Conklin, Alice White, Ned Sparks, Sam Hardy, Bodil Rosing, David Torrance and others. Don’t miss it.
