HUNTERVILLE
FIRE BRIGADE (Special “Chronicle” Service.) A meeting of the Hunterville Volun tier Fire Brigade was held on Monday night. Captain R. A- Gordon presiding. It wa< decided to procure and issue honorary members’ tickets for 1928The secretary was instructed to write to the Rangitikei County Council asking for a donation to the brigade. It was decided that the public be warned that the brigade intends to test 1 lie siren on -Monday, December 3, at 8 p.m.. Foreman Shindler to sound the alarm. It was resolved that the brigade hold an annual picnic, details to be arranged later. GENERAL NEWS The local swimming pool has been in use during the pa-t two summer-like days. The pipe band played a number ot selections in Hunterville on Saturday nipiit. .Mr D J. Abel celebrated his 21st. birthday on Thursday last and in the evening a coming-of-age party was held at “Glentanar” the home of his parents, Mr anl Mrs .!• M. Abel. Dancing and games were endulged in by a large number of friends.
