BABY COMPETITION Keen interest is being shown in the baby competition, organised by the local ladies’ committee, in aid of Dr. Barnado ’s Home. The object of the competition is to raise funds to meet the liability for the upkeep of the cot in Dr. Barnardo’s Home, which requires at least £5O a year. So far £lB odd has been collected and the position of candidates is as follows: Lorna Pedersen 2,400, Nola Duncan 1,003, Gretchen Wright 864, Jeau MeNie 240. STOCK SALE POSTPONED Owing to the heavy fall of snow last Friday, Freeman R. Jackson and Co. Ltd. did not hold their fortnightly stock sale. The few entries that came forward were railed to Wanganui.
