MODERN METHODS

CHURCH AND WIRELESS OPINION OF ARCHBISHOP JULIUS. f P«: Press Association. 1 CHRISTCHURCH, June 25. “What is the Church for if it is not to broadcast the Gospel of Christ. If people are too lazy to come to church surely we would be doing the right thing in taking the church to the people.” Thus spoke Archbishop Julius at the Cathedral yesterday when he extolled the virtues of the wireless broadcasting of services. The Archbishop also prophesied that only a short time would pass before services from most of the churches were put on the air. The broadcas.-ag of religious services in an innovation, said the Archbishop, and t’ o Church, with its conservative outlook, always shrinks from new ideas, and yet why should we not broadcast? At present wireless is still in its infancy, but to-morrow it will be doing great things in the education of the world.
