JAPANESE SHIPPING DISPUTE ENDED BY COMPROMISE [ Australian Press Assn. ] Received June 10, 5.5 p.m. TOKIO, June 9. A compromise has been reached on the dispute by which 300 non-confer-ence steamers have been hold up awaiting a decision on the wages issue, the owners having refused the men’s demands. The compromise is considered a seamen’s victory.

TROUBLE IN QUEENSLAND antljapanese feeling [ Australian Press Assn. ] BRISBANE, June 9. Hostile demonstrations against Japanese in Northern Queensland resulting in the loss of their employment have caused ill-feeling. The Consul-General from Sydney has arrived and is investigating.
