DECISION RESERVED

WESTMERE LAND CASE ADDRESSES OF COUNSEL The addresses of counsel in the Wcst|mere land transaction case between A. G. Newman, plaintiff, and H. C. Taylor and L. H. Best, defendants, were heard on Saturday morning at the Supreme Court before his Honour, Mr Justice Reed. For the defence Mr Izard submitted that there had been no evidence of fraud, while Mr J. M. Hussey for plaintiff dealt at length with the evidence, emphasising that if ever a place had the chance of showing its carrying capacity it was this place, as for practically four weeks there had been no stock on the place and from March onwards the season was exceptional for growing. He submitted that at the very outside the maximum carrying capacity of the place "was 350 breeding ewes.

His Honour stated that he would look into the matter, and he did not promise that he -would be abld to give his do* cision during the present sitting of the Court.
