AT TAWHERO SCHOOL

MORE ACCOMMODATION PROGRESS WARRANTS PROMISED ADDITION Established a few years ago to relieve to some extent the congestion prevailing at that time at the Gonvillc {School, the Tawhero School has been attracting a greater number of pupils every year. Naturally accommodation has become over taxed, but this state of affairs is now to be relieved by an addition to the school building. When the end of last year showed the roll number to bo little short of 200 there were many who thought that 1928 would not snow the usual increase. Yet already soihe 22ty attend the school, hence the need for more accomiitodation.

{Some three or four weeks ago a request was forwarded to the Minister of Education, the Hon. Ju A. Wright, by Mr W. A. Veitch, M. P. for Wanganui and the following telegram in reply will be of interest to parents of children attending the school:—“I have pleasure in advising you that 1 have approved of a grant for an additional room at Tawhero School.” In no small measuie is the continued progress of the Tawhero School due to the untiring devotion to duty of Mr W. P. Williams, the headmaster, whose attention to the discipline and environment of the pupils, as well as to therr intellectual development, has borne such successful results.
