Adolphe Menjou is rapidly acquiring a reputation in film circles for discovering new talent, and for creating opportunities for unrecognised talent that have given them tremendous impetus up the ladder of fame. In hig latest ‘Paramount comedy-drama, “Service for Ladies,” arriving at the Marton Town Hall on Saturday evening, Menjou introduces a new leading woman in the person of Kathryn Carver. While Miss Carver isn’t exactly new to films, this is her first big opportunity. According to critics who have seen her work, she is achieving definite laurels for herself, indicative of the further successes so many Menjou heroines have won in the past. MARTON DOG TRIALS. Entries for the Marton Dog Tria] Clubs annual trial close to-morrow at 9 p.m. for the short head and yarding competition to be held on Wednesday, June 13, on Mr A. Stuart’s property on Bulls-furakina Road. The general committee meets on Saturday evening at 7.30 in the Marton Jockey Club’s rooms. MARTON GOLF CLUB.
