WANGANUI CENTRAL CLUB YOUNG BIRD DERBY The Wanganui Central Pigeon Club held their Young Bird Derby during the week-end. The flight was fro:.. Blenheim, an air-line distance of 127 miles. The birds were liberated by Mr T. Martin, of Blenheim, at 7 a.m. and a. the weather conditions were good, the winning birds honied at 10.40 a.m., put ting up the best velocity experienced this season. Results:— M. Kirkncss bird Miss Vassart, velocity 1034.76yds a minute .. 1 M. Kirkness’ Lone Vassart, .1034.76 yards a minute 2 J. E. V. Maxwell’s W’insome, 1001.04yds a minute 3
