The annual dance of the Legion of Frontiersmen was held on Friday evening in the Town Hall. The Hall was comfortably tilled and a most enjoyable evening was spent. Messrs D. Forsyth, W. J. Pepper and J. Stevens carried out the duties of AL’sC., while th. music was supplied by 22 members of the Queen Alexandra Band, under Captain Buckley. A large number of officers and men from the camp were present. The ha!l and supper room were brilliantly decorated with bunting and streamers. The thanks of the Legion are due to those ladies who generously assisted in the supper room throughout the afternoon and evening. Air A. Benseman, as secretary and a hard working committee had arrangements well in hand. The dancing was Lrought to a successful close at 2 a.m. COURT NEWS. At the Waverley Magistrate’s Court on Thursday, Alessrs G- McGregor, J.P., anil 11. W. Janies, J.P., presided. G. How, charged with assault, pleaded not guilty. He was defended by Air G. 11. Graham. After hearing .he evidence of defendant and a witness, How W-s convicted and ordered to come up for sentence when called upon within 12 months. He was ordered to pay witness’ expenses, 16s. Air Graham lodged an appeal against the decision of the Bench, nd leave to appeal was allowed on a surety of £lO. The following cases were taken by default: —Waverley Town Board v. R.
