TURNED OVER
ENGINE OFF RAILS MINOR MISHAP AT ARAMOHO Workmen and many of the public were highly agitated at the Aramoho railway station on Saturday afternoon when an engine of the WF class took an impromptu plunge off the rails. The locomotive, which was moving without trucks, was leaving the private siding of Messrs Kempthorne, Prosser and Company, when it apparently did not take the trap points squarely and ploughed into the ground, turning over on one side. Fortunately, tho driver of the engine was able to jump clear in time and no one was injured. At the time the. engine was returning from ordinary yarding operations and was travelling slowExamination was instantly made as to methods of replacing the engine on the line and gangs of workmen were kept busy yesterday with machinery bringing tho disabled locomotive back to the rails. It was ultimately taken to the East Town railway workshops where it will be repaired and inspected prior to being recommissioned.
