SAVAGED BY HORSE

VICIOUS BITE INSTEAD OF RIDE Thomas Somerville. a 10-year-old boy, living at Mayfield, New South Wales, noticed a horse standing in a lane near his home, and thought he would like a ride. He tried to climb on to the horse’s back, when it turned on him and savagely bit him. The animal buried its teeth in the left side of his face, biting out a large piece of flesh, the jaw bone being exposed. He was taken by the ambulance to the Newcastle Hospital.
