HOCKEY
WANGANUI ASSOCIATION OPENING OF SEASON Next Saturday, the official opening of th© local hockey season will take place. Entries for the competition will be received at this evening’s executive meeting. Delegates from all clubs and representatives from the schools have been asked to attend so that final arrangements can be made.
Indications are that a large entry will be received. The men’s division is catered for by the Star Old Boys, Hinemoa and Wesley clubs, from whom a total of five senior a'nd four junior teams is expected. The ladies have again increased their number. The senior division should have seven teams engaged, while the junior grade has a probable entry of four.
Thus in all the Wanganui Associa tion expects a record season.
